This Extension was written in the space of 63 consecutive hours specifically for MacHack '96 by Glenn Austin and Michael Hopkins.
To use, put both files into the System folder. They go directly into the System folder, and won't work anywhere else.
Written exlusively in the Symantec Project Manager 8.0 release 5, this hack dresses up the Standard Mac OS System startup screen by replacing the MacOS logo with a 3-D animation with anti-large-corporation-in-the-Redmond-area theme.
Caveats: This hack is designed specifically for use on machines with 640x480 monitors and 8-bit color. As it is written in 68K, it will work correctly on both power-PC and 68K machines.
For trivia buffs, the time manager task draws a frame every 95 milliseconds. We felt this number was significant for obvious reasons.
If this hack crashes your machine, I blame the doze logo as it crashed our machines frequently during development... of course some of those crashes could be attributed to the less-than-flawless design of our our PowerBook 5300.
